Discusión:William Wheelwright

Esto corresponde al tercer párrafo, pero entra en contadicción con el primero y creo que no es de interés para hispano-hablantes. Pero lo dejo acá ya que puede ser importante o los datos mas reales.

Encuentro poetico pero sin interés enciclopédico esto.... si alguien desea traducirlo lo dejo acá: "He married, in that town, Feb. 10, 1829, Martha Gerrish, (...) from New York, bound to Carthagena, and continued his journey in a small schooner to Chagres and thence up the river, exposed to the heat and glare of the tropical sun, and across the Isthmus of Panama on mule back, and then down the coast in a leaky boat to Guayaquil."

Hay una equivocación al parecer sobre el canal de Panamá, ya que este fue usado desde el XX.

Tienes razón sobre el canal, que fue puesto al servicio en 1914, pero dice Vía del Istmo de Panamá es decir que pasaban de un lado al otro del istmo como se hacía desde la colonia o sea por tierra y se embarcaban al otro lado (supongo que esa es el punto al que te refieres)
